Myojo Gyoza Wrappers

Gyoza wrappers (餃子の皮) are used to make Gyoza, Japanese pan-fried potstickers. Japanese gyoza wrappers imported from Japan are even smaller in size than what we can get in the US.

Where to Get Gyoza Wrappers

I use this Myojo brand Gyoza wrappers that I get from the refrigerator or freezer section of the Japanese grocery store. Unfortunately, they are perishable and not available online. You can purchase the gyoza wrappers in Japanese and Asian grocery stores, as well as local grocery stores. If they carry fresh Asian ingredients, gyoza wrappers should be in the same section as tofu, wonton wrappers, etc.

How to Thaw Frozen Gyoza Wrappers

Defrost in the refrigerator overnight or on the counter for 60 minutes (depending on the amount and room temperature). Do not defrost in the microwave.

Important: Keep Gyoza Wrappers Moist

Once the package is opened, make sure to keep them covered under a damp paper towel or plastic wrap; otherwise, the edges will start to dry out and can’t be used.

Homemade Gyoza Wrappers

If you can’t find gyoza wrappers, you can make homemade gyoza wrappers, with just flour, salt, and water.
