As an avid smoothie maker with the little prep time needed, I’ve made all kinds of different drinks, from a matcha smoothie to a pumpkin one. However, I just recently discovered chocolate soy milk which has been a total game-changer. Despite its nutritional benefits, when made into a smoothie, it tastes just like a chocolate milkshake. This chocolate banana smoothie recipe is sure to become your breakfast, snack, and dessert.

Why You’ll Love This Recipe

Chocolate soy milk is a fantastic addition to a chocolate banana smoothie, elevating its flavor and creaminess to new levels. As a dairy-free alternative to regular chocolate milk, chocolate soy milk offers a luscious texture that goes perfectly with the natural sweetness of ripe bananas.

The rich cocoa taste in chocolate soy milk intensifies the chocolate element in the smoothie, making it a dream come true for all chocolate lovers. Its delicious flavor brings a sense of self-indulgence to the drink, a delightful treat that feels like a guilty pleasure but in reality, is still a healthy choice. Chocolate soy milk offers both protein and potassium while still keeping the calories relatively low.

So, whether you’re starting your day with a burst of energy, treating yourself to a guilt-free snack in the afternoon, or satisfying your midnight sweet cravings, this chocolate banana smoothie is the perfect choice. Its addictive blend of flavors, creamy texture, and nutrients make it a delightful and healthy option for any time of the day, and its popularity among both kids and adults will undoubtedly make it a staple in your smoothie recipe book.

How to Make Chocolate Banana Smoothie

The Ingredients You’ll Need

  • Banana
  • Unsweetened cocoa powder
  • Ice cubes
  • Silk Chocolate Soy Milk
  • Whipped cream
  • Sprinkles

Substitution Tips

  • Bananas can be replaced with a couple of tablespoons of Greek yogurt.
  • Chocolate soy milk can be replaced by chocolate dairy milk or almond milk.

The Cooking Steps

  1. Put the banana, cocoa powder, ice cubes and chocolate soy milk in a blender.
  2. Blend until all the ingredients are combined and smooth.
  3. Pour into glasses.
  4. Decorate with whipped cream and sprinkles if to your preference.

Recipe Tips and Techniques

  • If you don’t like whipped cream or sprinkles, try adding granola as a healthy alternative and enjoy it in a smoothie bowl.
  • If you find the smoothie too sweet, try balancing it out with normal soy milk.
  • Cacao powder is a great substitution for cocoa powder, but you may need to add a spoonful of honey or maple syrup, as cacao powder tends to be more bitter.
  • If the smoothie isn’t creamy enough, add another banana!

Storage Tips

  • To Store: Refrigerate leftover berry smoothie in an airtight container or mason jar for up to 2 days for maximum freshness.
  • To Freeze: Freeze the berry smoothie in a well-sealed container for up to 3 months. Defrost before enjoying.

Just made it! I have too many frozen bananas. Soy free, with real milk. Delicious! Thanks for that inspiration.5 stars

I didn’t have chocolate milk, so I used half almond milk, half regular and added a packet of stevia. Turned out great! Almost tastes like a frosty. Perfect for ice cream cravings!5 stars

I just made this with my Almond Breeze Chocolate Milk. This is by far the tastiest and most chocolate-flavored Chocolate Banana Shake I’ve had. I’m definitely saving this recipe. Thanks a ton!

Oh wow. That looks absolutely delish! Is it possible to use normal chocolate milk instead of using chocolate soy milk? Thanks, Nami-san!
